焼き牡蠣を楽しんだ後はお隣の五大堂へ。 朱色に塗られた橋で下の海が見える透かし橋が有名らしい。拝観料も無料なところは良いですね。 敷地自体は小さく中央に鎮座している歴史ある建造物は東北地方現存最古のものらしい。 海風や東日本大震災を乗り越え、建物が残っているのは確かに重要文化財ですね。震災前から重要文化財なんだろうけど。 ここから見る海の景色も良く一回りするだけなら10分もかからない位だが、ここに来るまでの橋は渡ってて楽しいですね。

未評価、でしたか? 松島らしい風景の代名詞にもなるくらいには、有名なお堂となりますね。最近では少なくなりつつありますが、雪が積もると尚美しい、と個人的主観では思います。所属としては瑞巌寺に含まれているので、御朱印も瑞巌寺様にてお取り扱いされています。 縁をつなぐ福浦橋に対し、透かし橋となっている橋で陸とつながれていまして、隙間から悪い縁は落ち、断ち切れる、という話があるとか。 お堂自体は四方に3つずつ干支の動物が彫られた飾りがあるので、良い風景はもとより、お堂にも目を向け、自分の干支を探すのも面白いです。

伊達家に縁のある瑞巌寺に行ってきました。堂内撮影禁止なので、写真は外からのものだけ。堂内では法要などの行事の際に伊達家の詰所、その他の詰所、裏方の部屋などが公開されていました。さらに上の位の人用の部屋も用意されていました。ふすまや欄間の細工がとても素晴らしく、各部屋天井の造りなども違っていて面白かったです。日本三景なので、周囲の駐車場も民家の横にあったりとメイン道路沿いでなくとも探せばすぐ見つかるのが良かったです。海沿いはおみやげ物屋が多く、ショッピングもできて良かったです。
