岡倉天心は明治の時代にあって日本文化の海外普及に腐心した先進的な思想家。晩年を過ごした五浦の地にちなんで美術館が設置されています。 館内はとても綺麗で落ち着いた雰囲気。常設展の展示スペースは必ずしも広くありませんが、天心の書斎などが再現され往時の雰囲気を今に伝えるようになっています。 海を臨む周りの景色も素晴らしく、訪れる価値のある美術館だと思います。

岡倉天心の業績を記念して設立された美術館。 岡倉天心の遺品や作品など展示されています。 6号国道から外れて五浦海岸側の高台にあるので静かです。 館内からも海が見えて、広く開放感があります。受付の方も感じ良く、監視スタッフさんからも気さくに声をかけて頂きました。 今回は、企画展「猫を愛でたい」を鑑賞したく 訪れました。 猫モチーフのハンカチやアクセサリーなど身につけて来場すると「にゃん割」なるユニークな入場割引がありました。 猫のしなやかな描写がとても美しい日本画や、狛犬をモチーフにしたユニークな表情の猫神さまの作品などとても興味深く見入ってしまい、気づけば常設展と合わせて2時間近く鑑賞。 出口付近の作品数点は写真撮影OKでした。 館内のガラス窓には至る所猫まみれで、見つけるのも楽しく、とても素敵な企画展でした🐈‍⬛

歳を重ねるごとに、美術館などに行きたくなる私。。。2時間かけて高速を飛ばして、同じ県内でもアア遠い。。。苦笑。でも、こちらの美術館も、ゆっくり出来る良い所ですね✨ 県民の日!秋晴れ!と来たら、ハンドル握ってました。 職場で見たチラシに企画展「猫を愛めでたい」とあるじゃないですかー。コレは行かねば‼︎ 本日無料♡たくさんの方々が来館されていました。 歌川国芳等の浮世絵、菱田春草、下村観山ら日本美術院の作家たちが描いた日本画、猫好きで有名な彫刻家、現代作家などなど、艶やかなもの妖しいもの、浮世絵の滑稽さや彫刻の発想にとんだものまで、猫達が起承転結!喜怒哀楽♪今にも動き出しそうです。 表現する自由を目の当たりに出来ました。 企画展出口付近の作品が数点が撮影可能でした。 海が見えて、ショップや、レストランもあり、またゆっくり伺いたいです。
