Ishikawa Prefectural Insectarium

The Ishikawa Prefectural Insect Museum in Hakusan City displays over 16 different types of insects at all times, including the world's largest beetle, the Hercules beetle, and the metallic lustered Metallic Lifer Hosoakakuwagata, which can also be touched. You can observe a wide range of insects, from aquatic insects to endangered species. In addition, there is a rich variety of rare species, such as the first successful domestic hatching of the Osamagen Goroumodoki.

At the Ishikawa Prefectural Insect Museum, there is a permanent exhibit where you can observe aquatic insects that live in water, as well as a field ecology park where you can collect insects in nature. There is also a popular corner where you can directly touch the Hercules beetle, and a greenhouse where about 10 species of butterflies flutter about.
