館山市上真倉にある曹洞宗のお寺。 豊臣秀吉や徳川家康に仕え安房国を治めた戦国大名里見義康の菩提寺。初代住職は義康の弟玉峯。 参道には海軍将校が植えた木が並んでいます。館山航空隊の縁からでしょうか。本堂前には立派な仁王像。御線香は一束50円であげられます。境内の奥には里見義康公の御墓。本堂参拝後にこちらにも手を合わせました。他にも縄文時代の遺跡が発掘されていてとても歴史を感じられるお寺です。 人が居なかったので電話で伺うと住職さんは外出中だったのですが私が今お寺にいることを伝えると車で戻ってきて御朱印を書いて頂きました。本当にありがとうございました。館山駅近くの震災観音堂は慈恩院さんで管理されていてそちらの御朱印も頂きました。

お彼岸が近いせいかお墓参りの方がちらほら。海軍の関係者が植えましたという樹木が並んでいます。館山は海軍基地の町ですね。お地蔵さんもきちんと手入れされていました。駐車場ありますが、砂利です。
