Yadagahara in Tatemachi is an internationally valuable wetland area where you can observe beautiful ponds and unique wetland plants. While walking on the boardwalk, you can admire a variety of alpine plants such as Miyama-rindo and Chinguruma, and also appreciate the natural environment protected under the Ramsar Convention. In autumn, the grass turns red and the blue ponds create a fantastic landscape, making it recommended to visit in all seasons.

In Mitakehara, Tachiyama-cho, the 28th Kannon stone statue and the legend of shugenja are alive. This stone statue, said to have been carved by shugenja who once practiced at high altitudes, exudes a quiet presence in the rugged landscape. In addition, a mysterious story of two women transformed into Kamuro cedar and Ubaishi stones also draws visitors in. From the observatory located in Midagahara, Tateyama Town, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent Tateyama Caldera, created by volcanic activity. From this observatory, nestled in the highland wetlands, you can also see majestic mountains such as Tsurugidake and Washigatake, Karikomi Pond, and the former bustling Tateyama Onsen. In autumn, the beautiful autumn leaves of birch and rowan trees can be seen. It's a spot where you can feel the history along with the rich natural scenery.
