興福寺に伝わった仏像彫刻や絵画、工芸品、典籍・古文書、歴史資料・考古遺物などの寺宝を収蔵。これらを一般公開するために利便性を考慮して設計された建物です。高校歴史の教科書に載っている美術品ばかりです。奈良で1ヶ所しか行くことが出来ないと言われたら、間違いなくこちらです。 白鳳時代の山田寺の仏頭(国宝)、乾漆造八部衆立像(国宝)、十大弟子立像(国宝)、旧食堂の本尊千手観音菩薩立像(国宝)、鎌倉復興期の木彫仏の写実的で力強いユーモラスな天燈鬼、龍燈鬼などが有名です。中でも一番注目されるのは、聖武天皇の后であった光明子が夭折した基王の菩提を弔うために作成を依頼したといわれる「天平の美少年」と称される阿修羅像(国宝)でしょう。 ミュージアムショップも素敵な品揃えです。おすすめは、阿修羅像の手拭いです。勿体無くて使うことは出来ないので、時々広げて観て楽しんでいます♪

何年ぶりかで興福寺国宝館にきました!何度来てもここの国宝群には感動します。ほとんどが重要文化財または国宝である!こんな国宝だらけの宝物館が他にあるでしょうか!日本人なら誰でも知ってるような仏像をはじめ感動の連続です。阿修羅像のような世界的スターも良いですが、私は、破損の激しい仏頭が好みです、この気高いお顔を色んな角度から見るのが大好きです。好きな仏像一つ写真を撮ってもいいなら文句なく仏頭ですね❗数年に一度は訪れたい場所ですね

興福寺の国宝、重要文化財がこれでもかというぐらい見られる国宝館。 仏像ブームの火付け役、阿修羅像ももちろんおられます。 いつ行っても素晴らしいのですが、できれば9時のオープンとともに入場してほしい。 この建物の場所に建っていた食堂のご本尊、千手観音菩薩像の前で興福寺ご住職による読経があり、中の雰囲気がすばらしいものになります。 またその後、数量限定で散華を無料でいただけます。 館内撮影不可なので、100円でカタログも買った方が良いです。 奈良はここから国立博物館、春日大社国宝館を巡るだけで多数のすばらしい文化財に出会える最高の場所です。
