Collaboration of Tojinbo and the Sunset

Hotokejima Island Collaboration of Tojinbo and the Sunset
Fukui Prefecture, located on the Japan Sea side, offers beautiful sunsets, but the sunset at Tojinbo is particularly breathtaking! The majestic cliffs of Tojinbo and the Japan Sea dyed in bright red purify the hearts of many people. As the scenery you can see varies depending on the spot, it's recommended to take your time and enjoy the collaboration of Tojinbo and the sunset from various spots. Also, since it gets dark quickly after the sun sets, it's a good idea to bring a flashlight or other light source depending on the situation.
Point 2

Highly Recommended: Take a Tour on the Boat at Tojinbo!

Hotokejima Island Highly Recommended: Take a Tour on the Boat at Tojinbo!
The Tojinbo boat tour is a rare opportunity to see the magnificent Tojinbo from the sea side. The course takes about 30 minutes, starting from the Tojinbo boarding area and passing through nearby Osaki Island before returning. It's often operated even during stormy weather or high waves, so it's recommended to check if it's running in advance on the official Twitter or other sources.
Point 3

Don't Miss the Tojinbo Tower

Hotokejima Island Don't Miss the Tojinbo Tower
Near Tojinbo, there is the Tojinbo Tower, which stands at a height of 100 meters above sea level and 55 meters above ground. It is a valuable spot where you can overlook Tojinbo from above, and on clear days, you can enjoy a view of not only the beautiful Sea of Japan but also the Hakusan Range. The official website of the Tojinbo Tower offers a 10% discount coupon for admission to the observation deck, which can be printed out and presented for a discount.

There are many shops where you can enjoy fresh seafood bowls and other seafood delicacies, with "Yamani Suisan" being particularly famous as a shop that is purveyor to the Imperial Household Agency. If it's the season when crabs are available, you can also enjoy Echizen crabs. In addition, IWABA CAFE, located just beyond the shopping street, is a spot where you can enjoy a leisurely coffee while overlooking Tojinbo.
Point 5

Be sure to visit Oshima if you have time!

Hotokejima Island Be sure to visit Oshima if you have time!
Oshima is located right near the famous Tojinbo. This island has been cherished by locals as a "god's island" since ancient times. Its distinctive feature is the bright red bridge that invites people to the island. Apart from shrines and lighthouses, there are no man-made structures, allowing visitors to enjoy the island's beautiful nature. The so-called "magnet rock," made of andesite, is also famous as a strange rock that disturbs compasses. Although it was once famous as a haunted spot, the local government now advises visitors to refrain from visiting after sunset. Let's visit the island while observing proper manners.
