萬福寺は、建久3年(1192)に源頼朝の命で梶原景時が建立したと伝えられる寺院で、室町時代末期に密教寺院から曹洞宗に改められ、今日に至っています。 南馬込五丁目の高台に境内を擁し、墓地には鎌倉時代の武将の梶原景時、徳川家の木工頭であった木原義久などの墓があり、境内に室生犀星の句碑もあります。高床式の立派な鐘楼、優雅な中にも重厚感のある木造瓦葺の本堂は見応えがあります。

建久年間(1190頃)梶原景時公大井丸山に建立 此れは現在では一族が関係あったのではないかの説 元応2年(1320)火災で馬込に移転 天正3年(1575)再興、密教寺院から曹洞宗のお寺に 梶原景時公墓、磨墨像、摩尼輪塔等有り日蓮も立寄り室生犀星が近所に邸宅を構えたとか(現在はなし) 最寄は都営地下鉄浅草線西馬込駅から歩いて15分位、JR大森駅まで抜け道もあり25分位

母方の祖父母、弟のお墓があるので年に数回通ってます。 歴史のある建物等も沢山ありますが、 お墓の周りも清掃をしてくれていて綺麗で、あちらこちらに水道も完備してくれているので、水運びが非常に楽です。 寒い時期の井戸水が温かいのがまた温もりを感じますwww
