The historical value of Haruna Shrine is very high, and the shrine's accompanying deity statue is a wooden statue donated by Murota Town in commemoration of the town's establishment in 1906, when the three Murota districts and Harunayama Village merged and became a town, and also because that year was the 60th year of the Hinoeuma year Kanreki Kaihiraishi Daisai, which is held once every 60 years by Haruna Shrine. In addition, Haruna Shrine is known for the Yatate Cedar, where Takeda Shingen prayed for victory by setting up an arrow during the attack on Minowa Castle in the Warring States period.
