Using Convenient Public Transportation

Access to the Suginami Animation Museum in Ogikubo, Suginami Ward, can be made by train. The nearest station is Ogikubo Station on the JR Chuo/Sobu Line and the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line. From Tokyo Station, take the JR Chuo Line Rapid and arrive at Ogikubo Station in about 30 minutes. It's about a 20-minute walk from the south exit of Ogikubo Station, and along the way, there are shopping areas and cafes where you can enjoy a stroll. The Suginami Animation Museum is a facility where you can learn about the production process of animation and experience making animation yourself. You can also learn about the history and culture of animation, making it a must-visit spot for anime fans!

杉並アニメーションミュージアムは、青梅街道に出る手前あたりにありました。 3階と中3階に、アニメ関連の展示品が豊富にあり、今(2025年2月末時点)は、ゆるキャン△3の展示がやっていて、貴重な資料や台本などがありました。杉並区がアニメーションに特化していることを改めて確認できましたです。

基礎的な歴史や「アニメとは何か」を学べる常設展と有名作品の企画展を楽しめる博物館。小さな子からコアなオタクまで対象は幅広い。駅からは少し遠いが、歩けなくはない。ただ、夏場はバスを使うべきだろう。そういう距離。

小一の息子と来訪しました。こぢんまりとした施設ではありますが、アニメーションの基本的な原理や、トレスボックスをつかっての写し絵、パラパラ漫画制作、アフレコ体験、デジタル着色体験等々、じっくり楽しめます。図書室の様な空間あり、蔵書を読める他、アニメのDVDも充実していて観る事ができます。また、ミニシアターもあり、我が家の来訪時には「人体のサバイバル」というアニメを観ることができました。「無料」というのが申し訳なく感じるくらいたっぷり楽しみました。
