霞ヶ浦の景色が楽しめる道の駅。霞ヶ浦越しの筑波山が見られます。 店内には新鮮な地元野菜が沢山並んでいて、春には珍しくセリが出るのでオススメです。セリはおひたしにしたり鍋に入れたり。 小エビやワカサギの佃煮も身がふっくらして甘辛くて美味しいです。 地元味噌屋さんの米麹も売っていて、これで甘酒を作るのが冬の楽しみです。 テキパキ元気の良いフードコートでソフトクリームや蕎麦うどんやバーガーを食べるもよし。土日は建物裏手の空地にキッチンカーが10台近く出店するので、肉料理やスイーツなどちょっと変わった美味しいものが食べたい方は外へ出てみてください。 道の駅たまつくりの建物内には小さなトイレがあります。男女別で個室は少ないですが綺麗です。 広い駐車場内にトイレだけの建物ありますがこちらは個室数が多く、外トイレなのに便座が温かいタイプで私が知る限り外トイレで一番綺麗です。

霞ヶ浦大橋のたもとにある道の駅です。 ナマズを使ったハンバーガー「なめパックン」、鯉を使ったハンバーガー「鯉パックン」などのご当地バーガーが有名です。 売店では鯉のうま煮や鯉のお刺身などを売っていてかなりパンチの効いたラインナップになっていました。 ただ、売り場面積はそこまでは広くなく、お土産類もかなり年齢層が上そうな渋いものが多かったです。 軽食コーナーで鯉パックンとりんごソフトクリームをいただきました。 鯉パックンは、生姜を使った竜田揚げ風に仕上げてあり鯉の臭みは消しつつ風味を味わえておいしかったんですが、肝心の鯉が小さすぎて(細長い切り身が一つだけ)物足りませんでした。鯉の身は一瞬でなくなってしまい、ほとんどパンしか食べてませんでした。 650円もするのでもう少し身を増やしていただけると…。 りんごソフトクリームは、どちらかというとシャーベットのようでしたが、味が濃厚でおいしかったです。 (追記) 別の日に、近くまで来たためまた立ち寄ってみました。 今度は「なめ天」を購入。 揚げたて熱々で、3つとも違う味を楽しめておいしかったです。(でも紫蘇味噌味のやつはかなりしょっぱく、ご飯かお酒が欲しくなった)

霞ヶ浦周辺にドライブやお買い物、おでかけした時にお土産やトイレなど道の駅は大きくても小さくても使えますよね 今回はツーリングの休憩に寄りましたが、平日ですが混んでいないので駐車スペースも十分にありますし 休憩に座って食べられるベンチとテーブルがあるのも良かったです ロードバイクの方々はラックもあるので止めやすいですよ
