The Tanaka Kazumura Memorial Museum is a museum exhibiting the works of Japanese painter Kazumura Tanaka, whose theme is the nature of Amami. The exhibition room is designed to resemble Takakura in Amami, and about 80 of Tanaka's works from his Tokyo, Chiba, and Amami periods are on permanent display. The museum is bright, and the natural beauty of Amami can be seen through the glass windows. Tanaka's works use local materials abundantly and depict subtropical creatures and landscapes. Through his works, you can experience the rich nature and beauty of Amami. After viewing the exhibition, you can take a break at the museum's entrance cafe, "Chero." In the summer, we recommend the refreshing drink "Amami Fruit Sugarcane Vinegar Soda." You can relax and immerse yourself in the charm of Amami while healing the fatigue of art appreciation.
