吉志部(きしべ)神社、古くは「太神宮」とも呼ばれる。 太神宮から分かる通り主祭神は天照大神・豊受大神、 創建は崇神天皇の御代に当時の奈良の都から神霊を勧請したようです。 歴史上度々兵火の難に遭い、 現在の社殿は桃山時代にこの地の吉志氏により勧進された伝わります。 静かで落ち着いた境内、 清掃もきちんとらされています大変気気の良い神社です。

紫金山公園や吹田市立博物館と隣接する神社。11月頃の週末は、七五三で比較的賑わう。階段を上がった境内から紫金山公園と連絡しているので、ちょっとした散歩コースとしても悪くない。 平成20年頃に本殿が不審火により全焼したため、今は新築されている。確かによく見ると外装が若干新しいが、市街地の中に自然樹林と共にたたずむ様は、一層趣深い。
