The "Kura no Machi Sightseeing Boat" is an activity that can be experienced in the warehouse district of Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture. It's a tourist spot where you can cruise the Uzumagawa River that flows through Tochigi City by boat. From spring to autumn, you can enjoy beautiful scenery such as cherry blossoms, fresh greenery, and autumn leaves. In addition, there are many historical buildings along the river, and you can see the warehouse town. The fee for the Kura no Machi Sightseeing Boat is 1,000 yen for adults (junior high school students and above), 700 yen for children (elementary school students and below), and 300 yen for pets, and it operates except for the year-end and New Year holidays and days when the weather is significantly disrupted. Around the sightseeing boat port, there are many restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and other places where you can enjoy sightseeing and shopping. You can enjoy Tochigi City tourism from a different perspective by viewing the scenery of Tochigi City from the boat!

3月上旬に訪れました。 渡り鳥が旅立つ前で船着き場から乗船すると、すぐに数羽の水鳥が駆け寄ってきます。船頭さんの竿捌きでゆっくり岸壁を離れると、待ってましたと言わんばかりに鴨が小舟を取り囲んで来ます。餌を投げ入れると、我先にと一斉に食い付いてきます。少しでもいいポジションを取ろうと喚き、小突き合いを繰り広げます。それが愉快で面白いです。船頭さんのガイドも耳に入ってこないほどです。 大きな鯉も悠然と泳いでいて、隙あらば大きな口を開けて鴨の餌を横取りします。 川面の照り返しを浴びながらゆったりと流れる時を感じるのもいいですね。 船から降りた後、向こう岸にある和菓子店で豆大福や草餅を食べながら由緒ある蔵屋敷(※ドラマ「仁」の撮影にも使われたそうです。)をバックに、行き来する小舟を眺めるのもまたいいですね。

乗船料は大人1人1000円。子供700円、犬等300円。 これは1回ではなく、1日フリーパスという意味で、何度も乗ることができます。 出航時間は毎時00分と30分で、乗船時間は20分ほどです。 蔵があるのは乗船場から塚田歴史伝説館にかけての範囲なので、ぶっちゃけそこ以外に蔵は一件も無いです。反対側にも空気を読んで蔵っぽい外観にしてる店や民家がありますが少数で、橋を超えた下流側は見るものがなくなります😂 でも大丈夫。鴨と鯉に餌をやるという最高にエキサイティングなアクティビティがあります。 よくみると色々な種類の鴨がいる気づきから始まり、餌をやりたい人間と食べたい鴨の駆け引き、鴨同士の熾烈な縄張り争い、想像の倍はデカい鯉の参戦、たった20分の間に色々なドラマがありました。 餌やりに夢中になり過ぎて船頭さんのお話が右から左になってしまうほど。 こんなに餌やって大丈夫なのかと思うほどの餌付けっぷりで、真冬なのに鴨も鯉もムチムチしてました。 栃木駅周辺では貴重な「動」のアクティビティですし、野生動物に対する餌付けの是非はいったん忘れて、ガチムチな鴨と鯉を愛でるのが良かろうと思います。あ、もちろん船頭さんも。 インバウンド客がおらず大人の日本人観光客のみで、待合室にいる時から下船まで終始田舎らしいまったりした空気なのもよかったです。

TV番組メシドラで紹介された次の日に妻と行って見ました。 乗船1日券を購入すると何回でも乗船出来るのですが、着いてすぐにたまたま並んで乗船した船の船頭さんがメシドラに出ていた女性の船頭さんでした。 船についてくるカモや鯉にエサをやりながら船頭さんの話や歌を聞いて楽しい時間を過ごせます。 冒頭にも書きましたが乗船券を買うと何回でも乗船出来るので時間のある方は何回も乗って違う船頭さんの船で楽しんでみるのもいいカモです。 カモにはカモーン 鯉には来い来い と声掛けするのが習わしとか(笑) 余談ですが遊覧船で遊んだ後に街歩きをしていたら家族に乾杯の撮影で笑福亭鶴瓶師匠にバッタリ会いました。
