1994年に勝浦町で四国で初めて恐竜の化石(イグアノドンの歯)が発見されました。これを機に、町おこしグループ「NPO法人阿波勝浦井戸端塾」によって道沿いに作られた小さな広場が『恐竜の里』です。リアルな恐竜のモニュメントが出迎えてくれるほか、狛犬ならぬ阿吽の形相の恐竜が佇む『恐竜大権現』が建てられています。 恐竜の里の脇道からは立川渓谷へ降りることができ、立川の清流が楽しめます。恐竜の里からさらに奥へ5分ほど車を走らせると、夫婦渕(みょうとぶち)が見えてきます。底まで見えそうな透明度の高い滝つぼに雌雄の滝と渕が連続して水が流れる様は、まるで寄り添う夫婦のようだとその名が付けられました。

勝浦町の立川渓谷。11月15日(日)に行きましたが、紅葉はまだでした。紅葉するととても綺麗なんだろうなぁ。狛犬が恐竜の立川大権現も見物です。
