Old-fashioned Streets and a Retro Atmosphere

Moji Retro in Kitakyushu City is a tourist spot with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you've slipped back in time. The charming buildings and wooden station buildings built from the Meiji era to the early Showa era still breathe today. From the observation room where you can enjoy the night view, you can overlook the Kanmon Strait, and there are also historically valuable buildings such as the former Moji Mitsui Club, which adopts the European traditional wooden construction method. In addition, you can enjoy local gourmet food such as baked curry and fruit parfait.

Mojiko Station, a Taisho-era station building located in the retro area of Mojiko in Kitakyushu City, is a nationally designated important cultural property boasting over 100 years of history. Its beautiful, symmetrical appearance in the two-story wooden Neo-Renaissance style is known for its design symbolizing "the gate". The fantastic scenery when it is lit up at night and the first and second class waiting rooms and ticket gates that remain as they were at the time transport visitors on a time slip.
