行った日は天気が良く冠島、沓島がきれいに見えていた。 その奥には、福井県の海岸の山も見えていた。 新井地区の入口までに、神社に向かって降りていく参道がある。 わかりやすい場所です。

ニイザキ神社地区周辺(丹後半島)には大和とは全く系統の異なる独立したクニが存在していたと思われる。中国大陸との交易で潤っていたであろうが・・・大和朝廷が日本国と名乗ると独自の文化は消え去り・・・・それを伝説や歌で残したのではないでしょうか? 「かごめかごめ」「浦島太郎」「かぐや姫」など。 本土が見えた絶好の境内だったのでしょう。新明山古墳なども昔は「墓」でもあるが航路のランドマークではなかったでしょうか? と勝手に想像する。

徐福上陸の地にやって来ました!神社は車がやっとすれ違いできる道をちょっと走るとあります。鳥居の横に5、6台停められる駐車場があります。新しい狛犬さんと古い狛犬さんがお出向かいしてくれます。社殿の隣に小さなお稲荷様が祀ってあります。摂社は並んで海に向かって2社あります。鳥居の向こうに冠島と沓島が見えます。 1分程歩くと経文岩と徐福上陸之地があります。
