2025.4 仁徳天皇陵陵をはじめとして、百舌鳥地区の墳墓や、堺市の歴史、火縄銃の変遷を紹介する展示を行なっている。森にしか見えない墳墓の構造や、配置を理解させてくれる。副葬品の土器、須恵器なども充実しており、当時の権力の大きさ、弔い、権威の継承などを理解させてくれる。また、木綿を持ちいて作られた絨毯風の織物は、北海道の鰊番網本がニシンの鱗を用いて真珠装飾などを作り、産業、工業の振興に繋げる努力をしていた事を想起させる。

ボランティアの案内人 さんがとても親切でした、。 展示物にちなんだお土産が少ないなあと思いました。 当時の街並みの 模型に 人がいないのが寂しかったです。 模型の人形 一般公募で コンテストして作ってもらったらいいのに などと考えていました

2024.10.20 大仙公園内にある博物館で、最寄り駅はJRの百舌鳥駅だ。私は三国ヶ丘駅から大仙古墳を半時計回に四分の三周ほどしてたどり着いた。 大仙古墳の当時の姿や出土品などの説明、中世の堺についてなど、幅広く展示されている。説明もしっかりあって分かりやすく、ボランティアの方に質問することもできた。大変良い博物館だと思う。200円はお得。
