Hakkoda Mountain is a collective term for 18 peaks and is selected as one of Japan's 100 famous mountains. Beautiful valleys and beech forests can be seen, and the popular walking course allows for viewing of wetland and alpine plants. It is one of the world's leading heavy snowfall areas, and is famous for the "Hakkoda Snow March Disaster" that occurred in 1902.

Access

Bus Available from Aomori Station!
If you want to go to Mt. Hakkoda using public transportation, you can take a bus from Aomori Station. During the summer, buses run every 60 minutes, and during the winter, they run every 80 minutes. In the winter, there is also a bus that runs every 15 minutes to the Sukayu Onsen, which stops at the Hakkoda Ropeway Station on the way. If you are traveling by car, get off at one of the Aomori IC, Aomori Chuo IC, or Aomori Higashi IC on the Tohoku Expressway and proceed on Route 103. It takes about 30 minutes from each IC.

Fee

The Round-Trip Fare for the Ropeway is 2,000 Yen for Adults!
The fare for the Hakkoda Mountains Ropeway is 1,250 yen for adults and 450 yen for elementary school students for a one-way trip. Round-trip tickets are a bit more economical, costing 2,000 yen for adults and 700 yen for elementary school students. The ropeway runs at intervals of about 15-20 minutes. During the autumn foliage season and snow season, the ropeway can be very crowded, so it's recommended to go during less busy times such as early in the morning.

Required time

Take About an Hour for a Summit Walk
The Hakkoda Mountain Ropeway takes about 10 minutes one way. When you arrive at the summit, you can enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Hakkoda from the summit station. If you return without taking a walk on the summit promenade, the total time required will be about 30 minutes. If you take a walk on the summit promenade after leaving the summit station, it will take an additional 1 to 1.5 hours. There are two courses on the summit promenade, so please choose according to your physical strength and time. The summit becomes difficult to walk on, such as when snow accumulates from late October, so be sure to wear sneakers or trekking shoes.

八甲田山と聞いて、映画「八甲田山」を思い浮かべます。 地獄の雪中行軍演習をイメージしていため、登山前から戦々恐々としていました。天気はあいにくの曇天。酸ヶ湯から登ると、麓は全然風がなかったのですが、下山ですれ違う登山者に話を聞くと「山頂は這って登らないと」とか「途中で引き返しました」と言われるので、流石に暴風の場合は撤退も覚悟して登りました。 心配の風は、頂上付近まではどうにか登れる程度だったのですが、ラスト100メートルから風のレベルが上がりました。それこそ這って一歩一歩進み、頂上に着くとすぐに降りました。 さすが八甲田。リュックカバーが飛ばされました。 またいい天気の時に来たい。

岩木山と並び日本百名山の一つで幾つもの峰々が連なった総称です♪🏔️🥹 前日に酸ヶ湯温泉で温まり夜明け前に出発して森の中でご来光拝み山頂に着くと強風で帽子が吹き飛ばされるほど🌀雪はまだ降っていなかったけど周りに遮ぎる山が無いので体感はマイナスで凄く寒かったです🥶😱😵‍💫 名所の毛無岱は幾つもの池塘や草紅葉のコントラストが圧倒的に綺麗でインパクトありました🤗 やっぱり錦や紅葉🍁に染まる10月中旬頃が一番良いかなぁ🆗 ロープウェイ🚡でも簡単に登れるし春冬にスキーも良いかも⛷️

ゴールデンウィークに来ました♪雪の☃️中での登山でしたが、雪がいいクッションになって特に降りは走ってもザクザククッションになってとまりません😆景色も最高です♪注意点は頂上の強風です💦台風🌀並です。滞在時間は少なめにをおすすめします😌
