A One-Star Michelin Green Guide Swamp

The Goshiki-numa Lake and Marshland area is home to various swamps, ranging from very large to small, and is attractive for its diverse range of colors. In 2016, it was certified as a one-star Michelin Green Guide spot, and its beauty is recognized worldwide. The colors change depending on the season, weather, and time of day, making it a spot worth visiting multiple times, not just once.

Enjoy Boating at Bisamonnuma!

Bisamonnuma boasts the best view in the Kounuma area, with Mt. Bandai towering in front of it. It's also the largest area where boating is allowed in Kounuma. It's a popular spot for families, and it's recommended to take a boat ride with your children and explore Bisamonnuma. Relax and enjoy the dynamic scenery while rowing on the emerald green and cobalt blue waters of the lake.

A Must-See: The Beautiful Blue Pond

Located about a 10-minute walk from the Urabandai Product Hall is the Blue Pond. It contains calcium and sulfate ions, and the bottom of the pond is covered in Ukamikamagoke, giving the pond a shining blue color. Surrounded by a forest, the pond has a mysterious atmosphere that enhances its "blue beauty," making it one of the top lakes in the area. Sit on a bench and spend a graceful moment. There is also a point where you can look down from a high position, and the contrast with the surrounding plants and trees is beautiful, so it is recommended!

Enjoy the Great Outdoors on the Goshikinuma Nature Trail!

In the Goshikinuma Lakes area, a walking trail has been prepared, allowing you to enjoy trekking while visiting various lakes and ponds. Starting from "Yanaginuma," this popular activity involves visiting scattered ponds in order. One of the great things about this trail is that there are hardly any ups and downs, making it easy for even beginners to participate. However, there are places where rocks are scattered, so it's best to wear comfortable shoes for walking. Why not refresh both your mind and body with a trek through the fresh greenery?

Enjoy Food and Shopping at Goshiki-numa

If you visit Goshiki-numa in the Lake Numagawa area, it's recommended to enjoy food and shopping as well. A popular treat among children is the emerald green ice cream, just like the one at Bisamon-numa. It's especially busy on hot days and has become a specialty of Bisamon-numa. There are also shops that sell souvenirs, where you can purchase unique goods that are only available in Urabandai. After enjoying the beautiful scenery and boating, why not relax with some light snacks and shopping?

History

Lakes and Marshes Formed by the Steam Eruption of Mount Bandai

The Goshiki-numa Lakes and Marshes are a collective term for the marshes formed when a landslide caused by a steam eruption of Mount Bandai in 1888 blocked the Nagase River with a rockslide. The river, which lost its way due to the landslide, became a marsh, and a large number of lakes and marshes were created. Each marsh has a different water quality due to environmental changes such as chemical changes and plant propagation. The rough land after the steam explosion was rebuilt and is now a representative tourist spot in Fukushima Prefecture.

Parking

All Parking Around Goshikinuma is Free!

There are four parking lots around Goshikinuma, all of which are free to use. The recommended parking lots are the "Urabandai Visitor Center Parking Lot" and the "Goshikinuma Parking Lot," both of which are close to "Bishamonnuma," where you can enjoy boating. The Urabandai Visitor Center has about 70 parking spaces and is close to the exploration route, so many hikers park here. On the other hand, the Goshikinuma Parking Lot can accommodate about 100 cars and is located right in front of Bishamonnuma, making it a good choice for those who want to enjoy the view of the pond.

雨の日でしたが、五色沼と紅葉が素晴らしく、また来年も訪れてみたいと思いました。道は登山靴でなくジョギングシューズで歩けます片道歩き、帰りビジターセンターまでバスで戻る。もしくは往復歩いてしまうのも可能な距離感でした　※コースタイムはゆったり目で設定されてます途中トイレはありませんので、済ませてから出発されることをお勧めします

紅葉の色づきが読めないので、ベストなタイミングが難しいと思います。初めて行ったのですが、五色沼群を全て回るには2時間弱かかります（写真撮りながらなので、時間かかりました😓）また、道はたまーに板が引かれてるところがあるくらいで、後は木の根や岩が露出している山道でした💦落ち葉も多く、濡れているところもあり結構滑りそうでした😶自分はトレッキングシューズ、マウンテンパーカー、リュックで行きました。できれば両手が空くバッグや、滑らない靴、山道に耐えられる服装で行くことをオススメします。毘沙門沼側の駐車場に車を止めて桧原湖まで行きましたが、帰りは国道をひたすら歩きました…往復のバスあるみたいですが、本数がないので注意が必要だと思います。色々書きましたが、素晴らしい景色には間違いないので是非行って下さい😆

1888年の磐梯山噴火によって川が塞き止められてできた湖沼はこのエリアに数百あるとか。その中の代表的な８つの沼を見る事ができる【五色沼自然探勝路】は片道４kmのハイキングコースです。往路、復路のどちらかをバスなどで移動して、片道を散策するのが良いそうです。ちなみに「五色沼」の名前の由来は、五つの沼という事ではなくて様々な色彩が見られるから………との事。裏磐梯ビジターセンターの駐車場に停めて出発です。 (私は復路をバスに乗るパターンをチョイスしました) 「毘沙門沼」→「赤沼」→「みどろ沼」→「竜沼」→「弁天沼」→「るり沼」→「青沼」→「柳沼」特に印象深かったのは「毘沙門沼」と「青沼」です。「毘沙門沼」は一番大きな沼なんですが、コバルトブルーのあまりにも美しい色に圧倒されました。(冬季以外は手漕ぎボートを楽しむ事ができるようです) 「青沼」は水面に周りの木々や空が映りこんで、そのグラデーションが複雑な色合いで本当に神秘的でした。他の沼の色もとても綺麗な緑や青で………青といっても「明るい青」や「緑がかった青」や「淡い青」……。自然が作り出したとは思えない程美しい色でした。〈神秘の湖沼〉と呼ばれているのに納得です。色が違って見えるのは……… 水中に含まれる火山性物質だったり、天気、季節、見る角度だったり………また、時間帯によっても少しずつ違った色に見えるそうです。なので今、見ている【色】はまさに「一期一会」なんですね！最後の「柳沼」を見終えたのはスタートから約１時間30分後でした。「五色沼自然探勝路」はアップダウンは少ないのですが、岩がごろごろしていたり、私が訪れた４月は雪解けで道がぬかるんでいました。なので、運動靴などがお薦めです。散策路の両側には木々があったり、所々にベンチもあるのでゆったりと見てまわれます。でも、お気を付け下さい。トイレありません。飲み物の自販機ありません。そして熊にも用心して下さい。
