Shiobuchi Ana A Natural Phenomenon of Seawater Gushing Out of the Ground!
A Natural Phenomenon of Seawater Gushing Out of the Ground!
The Geysers of Choshi, or Choshi La Spout, are located on the coast between the Hidemi-jima district and the Rikuchu-Miyako Resort area, on the north side of Jozen-ga-hama Beach. Underneath the geysers is a sea cave formed by the erosion of the waves, which is connected to the surface. The top of the hole is spindle-shaped and measures 2.5 meters in length and 65 centimeters in maximum width. When a large wave hits, the pressure of the wave causes seawater to gush out of the ground, creating the phenomenon of the geyser. The height of the tide varies depending on the state of the waves, but especially when the waves are rough or the northeast wind is strong, the height of the geyser can reach up to 30 meters, overwhelming viewers with its power and spectacle. The geysers are a beautiful natural phenomenon created by the power of nature, and will be a surprising and moving experience for visitors. Especially on days with strong waves or wind, you can witness the powerful eruption of the geyser. Please enjoy the magnificent sight of the geysers along with the beautiful nature and coastal scenery of Jozen-ga-hama Beach!
