瑞巌寺前身の円福寺に関する出土品や重文の本堂障壁画、伊達家歴代藩主の画像や書物等が所蔵されていて無料で入館できます。 なかでも県指定文化財に指定されている伊達政宗甲冑騎像のほぼ等身大の木像が良かったです(レプリカ木像は本堂上段の間にある)。幼少期の天然痘の後遺症で隻眼となりましたが、政宗公の遺言で失明した右目が開いています(でも左目に比べると半分閉じていますが)。 入口は瑞巌寺の瓦が展示されている方です!
