Access

Access Information to Togatta Onsen
For those using public transportation, take the Miyagi Transportation Bus from JR Shiroishi Station and you will arrive at Togatta Onsen in about 50 minutes. Please get off at the Togatta Onsen bus stop. If you are using a car, you can head to Togatta Onsen from either the Shiroishi I.C or Murata I.C of the Tohoku Expressway. It takes about 20 minutes from Shiroishi I.C and also about 20 minutes from Murata I.C to arrive at the hot spring resort. Access by car is relatively convenient, so you can enjoy a drive.

History

Enchanting Hot Springs Woven with History and Legend!
At Togatta Onsen, there are legends that have been passed down since ancient times. Formerly known as "Yukarida," this hot spring is located on a plateau at an altitude of 330 meters and has been loved by people as a base for faith climbing and a hot spring resort since ancient times. The beginning of its history is said to be when Kanabashi Tachibana, who made a fortune by digging for gold on Iwasaki Mountain, discovered a sacred spring. According to another legend, a fierce battle took place between a giant eel at Fudotaki Falls and a giant crab at Mikadotaki Falls, and the eel's tail falling to this land caused the hot spring to gush out. This historically rich hot spring resort, which has been passed down since ancient times, is blessed with the gifts of nature and is a spot where the charm of the hot springs with its source flowing freely and the beautiful nature are attractive.
