Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine is a shrine located in Fujiyoshida City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is the head shrine of the approximately 1,300 Asama shrines throughout Japan. The grounds are vast, with the Hongu main shrine covering about 17,000 square meters and the shrine owning about 3.85 million square meters of land, including above the eighth station of Mt. Fuji. Known as the center of Mt. Fuji faith, it's a popular spot for many tourists. There are two shrines on the grounds, the Hongu and the Okumiya, with the latter requiring climbing and located at the summit of Mt. Fuji. With a history of over 1,000 years, let's visit this valuable shrine, which is also counted as one of the constituent assets of Mt. Fuji's World Heritage site.

It is also the head shrine of Asama Shrines located throughout Japan, and it is said that by visiting the shrine, one can receive blessings for fire prevention and safe navigation. To visit the Kusushi Shrine at the summit or the Okumiya Shrine, mountain climbing preparations are necessary. This shrine, where you can feel the World Heritage Site of Mt. Fuji up close, allows you to touch both history and nature.

富士宮口山頂に鎮座する富士山本宮浅間大社奥宮は、御祭神は浅間大神(木花之佐久夜毘売命)を主祭神とし、相殿神として父神大山祇神、背の君瓊々杵尊をお祀りしています。 7月10日~9月310日(※天候によりずれる場合もあります)の開山期には、神職が奉仕し、国家安泰、氏子・崇敬者・登拝者の安全を祈念するほか、家内安全等の諸祈願、結婚式の奉仕、お札・お守りの授与、金剛杖・行衣等の御朱印の授与も行っています。また、本宮と奥宮では朱印も異なるり、奥宮の御朱印は、富士山の溶岩の砂が含まれたものが押されます。 富士山8合目以上は富士山本宮浅間大社奥宮境内地であり、約120万坪の広さに達します。古来、富士山は富士山本宮浅間大社の御神体として崇められる神聖地であって数々の霊場行場があり、元は富士山興法寺を形成する大日堂でした。富士山が姿を現した日とされる8月15日が、奥宮の例祭日となってます。

富士山登山は思ったよりも辛く、特に上り下りの体力的な負担を実感しました。1人では絶対に登れなかったと思いますが、友達と一緒だったからこそ、頂上までたどり着けました。登山中、高山病の予防としてダイアモックスを持参することを強くおすすめします。体が高度に慣れるまで、途中で30分程度の休憩を取ることも大切です。日の出や日の入りはもちろん、夜の富士山も非常に美しく、全ての瞬間が心に残ります。標高が高いため、予想以上に過酷でしたが、それでも頂上に立った時の達成感は格別で、人生で必ず一度は登りきるべきだと感じました。登頂後の景色や経験は、一生の宝物になります。

吉田ルートの0号目から登り、無事登頂! 途中大雨で気温が下がったり体力も奪われて行きましたが、無事に登れたときの達成感が半端ない!山頂は神秘的な場所で、登山客で溢れていました。神社でお参りし、御朱印と御守りを購入しました。 登らないと辿り着けないのでまた富士山登って訪れてたい神社ですね。
