Amakusa

In the Amakusa Islands, consisting of over 120 small islands, you can enjoy "dolphin watching" and "marine activities" unique to islands surrounded by the sea, as well as local gourmet food such as fresh seafood and the legendary local chicken "Amakusa Daio." The "Amakusa Gohashi," where red bridges stand out against the blue sea, is a great spot for taking photos and is one of the best driving spots in the prefecture. You can also take a trip around tourist spots, restaurants, and hot springs while enjoying the view of one of Japan's three most scenic spots, Matsushima. The Gothic-style "Shimazu Church" located in the "Shimazu Settlement," which is registered as a component asset of the World Heritage Site, retains the history of Christianity in the area.
