Iga Beef

A brand beef representing Iga in Mie prefecture.

Iga beef, raised in an environment where it can stretch out and eat old-fashioned grains and rice straw, has the greatest feature of sweetness spreading when you put it in your mouth. Because it is raised in nature, it has less marbling, and you can enjoy the original flavor of the meat in a healthy way, which is also a characteristic.

Doteyaki

A stew dish made with plenty of beef tendons.

Doteyaki refers to beef tendons skewered and seasoned with the original broth of the shop, such as white miso, and grilled. It is a gourmet dish originated in Nagoya, but unlike Nagoya's Doteyaki, which uses red miso, Iga's Doteyaki has a slightly sweet white miso flavor! It has an exquisite taste that goes well with rice. Sprinkling Ichimi Togarashi (Japanese red pepper) on it will make the taste even better.

Oshimon

Japanese sweets made with Kanbai flour, made from Iga rice.

Kanbai flour is made by steaming and drying glutinous rice, grinding it into powder, and then exposing it to the sun. The Kanbai flour is then kneaded thoroughly with sugar and anko (sweet red bean paste), molded into colorful shapes, and left to rest to complete. It is a high-quality Japanese sweet with the fragrant aroma of Iga rice and the simple sweetness of anko. Recommended for celebratory occasions!

Nabari Beef Soup

A gentle soup made with luxurious Iga beef.

To be called "Nabari Beef Soup", it is essential to follow five rules! These rules are quite strict, such as using only Iga beef and always using green onions in the Japanese-style soy sauce broth. It seems that the taste is consistent no matter where you eat it! Also, it's great that even though it uses Iga beef, it's reasonably priced because it uses the leftover pieces.

Chotei Yokan

A light yokan made only in winter.

"Chotei Yokan" is named after the apprentice craftsman "Chotei Don" who used to eat it as a snack. Unlike steamed yokan, which has a long shelf life, Chotei Yokan does not keep well, so it was not suitable for summer when there was no refrigerator. Therefore, many shops still produce it as a winter-limited Japanese confectionery. In addition, it is low in sugar, so even those who are not good at sweets can enjoy it.
